Jim\'s Place Grille is proud to offer an excellent private dining room that is an ideal location for your corporate event, family celebration, or intimate diiner.

Our private dining room accommodates up to eighty guests for a standing cocktail party with passed appetizers, and up to sixty guests for a seated dinner.

Legacy of a Family Tradition

In the mid-1930s, Nick and his brothers, Bill, (pictured above with arm raised) and George moved from Greece and another location was opened at 154 Union Ave. across from the Hotel Peabody(as shown in photograph). Dimitri, (shown in photo to the left) son of Bill, along with his brother Costa, and brother in law, Angelo, opened Jim’s Place Grille, the Collierville location, in 2007 where a pictorial history of Jim’s Place hangs today.

The owners and third generation management at Jim’s Place Grille continue to give personal attention to food, service, and most of all to YOU the customer! If it is not right we will make it right! We have been blessed with loyal patrons whose children and their children have contributed to 88 years of success .

It Started as a Vision

The extraordinary legacy of the Taras Family in Memphis’ restaurant industry began nearly 88 years ago when Nick Taras, age 13, immigrated to the US from Greece in 1910. Little did he know at the time he would start a Memphis dining tradition. Together with Jim Katsoudes , the first location was in 1921 in the basement of the William Len Hotel at the corner of Monroe Avenue and Main Street. The rest is history to this day treating every customer as part of their extended family.

The Experience… Warm, Inviting, Casual

The greatest challenge is to create environments that lead to memorable experiences. Using a warm palette of colors, textures and patterns inspired from nature , guests feel a sense of the outdoors as one gazes upon artwork depicting water running through creeks, cascading waterfalls, and lakes that take your mind to a far off quiet place.
